Yumpin' Yiminy, What a Year
Cirrus N355T is in the shop for his first annual, which means this time last year, my sweetie and I were in Minnesota's resort spot, Duluth, for our factory training. A Cirrus SR22 G3 Turbo Perspective - every syllable marked new territory for me. First time to fly (1) a glass bird (2) the NASA-notched wing (3) turbo-normalized anything, and (4) a G1000. Yet 10 short training hours later, I was left-seat back to Washington State with flair.
This also marks the anniversary of my vision for Morning Wings - a chance to create the products that, after 20 years and 1000 hours as a woman pilot, I've always wanted for myself. Who knew that could take so long? Research, concept, design, manufacturing, branding, marketing ... a brave new world for a former NASA techie. I naively scheduled our debut for EAA AirVenture 2009. Thanks to my marvelous associates, we brought to market some terrific products in such a short time.
But I now see that my more ambition concepts will take a bit longer to bring to fruition. Watch this space for continuing developments!
